It is surrounded by Forest reserve and is well known for it's cinchona plantation. The river you are seeing is the famous Teesta river which ends in the bay of Bengal. The very Darjeeling which is well known for cultivation of tea is it's neighbouring state. Animal husbandry is just a passion for the locals. The locals of Mungerjung depends upon the protection of the cinchona trees.
